About School Direct
With our school-led training, you are part of our teaching teams from the start. As an alliance of schools across North London, we aim to give trainees experience of different school settings to give them the best possible foundation for their future career, potentially including experience in a mental health pupil referral unit (PRU).
We are currently offering places via the tuition fee route and salaried route.
Tuition Fee Route
The tuition fee route into teacher training generally attracts some level of bursary depending on what you want to teach and your degree qualification. You do not have to be a recent graduate to receive a bursary.
You pay tuition fees, either from student finance, your savings or your bursary, and at the end of the course you will either receive a PCGE or 60 credits towards a Master’s as well as qualified teacher status (QTS).
For 2019 entry we will be recruiting:
- Primary General – Please see our course directory for details fo recruiting schools.
- Secondary – we are looking for a wide variety of subjects - Please see our course directory for details fo recruiting schools.
The Salaried Route
In the salaried School Direct programme you will be paid a wage whilst you train.
We will be recruiting Secondary English teachers only on the salaried route.
